Thorough Introduction to Caregiving
watch out for nanny cams. sure why not?
caregiving
It really depends who you are working for and who you are taking care of. Your best bet is to ask the parents (if you are talking about in home care) of these children, before taking a job, be sure to ask about earnings at that time too. They may or may not like the idea of your attention being somewhere else. Be sure to ask them if it is okay to work on schoolwork during nap times. If it is working in a center, then no you probably cannot do your school work while you are working. Your employer may look at it as in “we are not paying you to do your schoolwork.”. But, your best bet is to ask if you can work on your school work during down times. Ask at the interview. The money that you can make vary from area to area as well as your possible earnings may be based on your experience.
Learn The Truth About Caregiving
Compensation depends on if you work for an agency or on your own. Also your qualifications and experience are important. You can get anywhere from minimum wage to around $14/hour is the norm. Some people get more. Then there are day rates of $80-$165/day (12hr or 24hr shift). It also depends on if you are live-in and the other benefits offerred, such as medical insurance or a retirement plan. I hope that helps.
As for studying, that really depends on your client. Some are fine with that as long as you hop to it when they need you or if you have specific hours and duties. When there is down time, then there typically isn’t a problem, especially if the client wants someone there “just in case.”
