  1. There are many great things that help seniors remain independent. One of the most exciting advances have been for Alzheimer’s patients. Although I do not advocate them living alone things like medication dispensers that alert caregivers that their medication wasn’t taken, video monitoring and even GPS tracking devices give caregivers a little more freedom and piece of mind. Indiana just passed the Silver Alert program that works like the Amber Alert for missing children.
